About
Dutch Fluency started because I was lazy. Seriously.

Tap me...
Most of the content is free because that's how I wanted to do it. Give first, let people decide if they want more. I want Dutch Fluency to be the one notification on your phone that never stresses you out.
Dank je wel dat je er bent.
Meet Rick
The guy who automated his own laziness into a language platform.
When I was learning Thai, I kept forgetting to do my own practice. So I started automating things: reminders, exercises, content pipelines. Before I knew it, I had built an entire system. I thought: if this works for me, it could work for anyone learning Dutch.
I build everything from Asia. The distance helps you think differently about a language. No classroom walls, no textbook curriculum. Just what actually helps people speak Dutch, automated so it never stops, even when I'm asleep.
Meet Johan
Strategy, partnerships, and making things happen.
Johan brings years of experience in business strategy, partnerships, and professional communication. He's on the business side of Dutch Fluency: B2B partnerships, sponsorships, team programs, and making sure the platform keeps growing.
While I'm in my corner building tools and recording podcasts, Johan is the one connecting with companies, planning the next move, and making sure the business side actually runs like a business.
I build it. Johan scales it.

How we think about learning at Dutch Fluency
No motivation tricks. No vague promises. Just Dutch, daily, at your level.
You practice, you progress, you eventually stop panicking when your Dutch colleague walks over. That's the goal.
Progress > perfection
Making mistakes means you're trying. That's the whole point.
Consistency > intensity
10 minutes a day beats 2 hours once a month. Every time.
Automate the boring stuff
We built systems that practice with you daily so you never have to remember to show up. Just open and go.
Things we made at Dutch Fluency that make me smile
Personal Dutch songs created from learner diary entries. Every one is unique.

You'll probably end up talking to Johan. He actually replies on time. I'm the guy who builds things and forgets to check his inbox.
(But seriously, we both read every email.)
Goed bezig.
