About
Dutch Fluency started because I kept skipping my own practice.

Most of what we make is free, on purpose. Give first, let people decide if they want more. My one goal: make Dutch Fluency the notification on your phone that never makes you feel behind.
Dank je wel dat je er bent.
Meet Rick
The guy who turned "I forgot to practise again" into a language platform.
When I was learning Thai, I kept forgetting to practise. Motivation was never the problem, showing up was. So I started automating the showing-up: reminders, exercises, daily content that arrived whether I felt like it or not. One system led to the next, and I realised: if this drags me through a language, it can do the same for anyone learning Dutch.
I build everything from Asia. The distance strips away the assumptions: no classroom walls, no textbook chapter you have to finish first. Just the things that actually get people speaking Dutch, running on their own so the practice keeps coming, even while I sleep.

Meet Johan
Business and strategy, in conversation.
Johan is who I think out loud with. Years of business experience, and the person I have the strategy and business conversations with: where this is heading, what matters next, and how to say it clearly to the outside world.
I build everything myself: the apps, the podcasts, and the whole distribution and marketing layer. Johan is the sounding board for the business and strategy talks and the professional communication, the calm second head when a decision actually matters.
I build it. Johan and I think it through.

How we think about learning
No motivation tricks. No vague promises. Just Dutch, every day, at the level you are actually at.
You practise, you progress, and one day your Dutch colleague walks over and you just answer. That is the whole goal.
Every mistake is proof you are speaking instead of hiding. That is the point.
10 minutes a day beats 2 hours once a month. Every single time.
We built systems that practise with you every day, so remembering to start is never the thing that stops you. Open it and go.
The part that still makes me smile
Personal Dutch songs, built from real learner Dagboek entries. No two are the same.
Real students
We build it. They live it.

(But seriously, we both read every email.)
Goed bezig.
